		<abstract>This paper describes a methodological proposal for the detection of Atlantic Forest remnants, based on slicing and segmentation of band 3 from the LANDSAT7 satellite, ETM+ sensor. This methodology applied to the study area yielded a 90% accuracy on the extraction of these remnants, being the overall accuracy 85%. Though still in development, this methodology is promising for the proposed objectives.</abstract>
